Song of the Month
In the Mood
by Joe Garland
arranged by Mimi Sinclair, 2009
Here's a great movement activity for all ages and abilities, preschool to geriatrics. Moving to music is good for so many things -- body coordination, physical development, heart rate, brain stimulation, just to name a few. It helps the young grow and develop. It helps the elderly stay young!
This simple instrumental arrangement includes verbal cues for these easy movements that can be done seated or standing.
TAP-tap your toes
PAT-pat your knees
CLAP-clap your hands
SHAKE-shake hands in front of body
SWING-swing your body from side to side
SWING UP HIGH-raise your arms over your head as you swing from side to side
SWING DOWN LOW-lower arms as you continue to swing from side to side
