Song of the Month
Sing Sally Sing!
by Mimi Sinclair
copyright 2009
This song is adapted from an old folk song which is sung in a call and response style. I use it with children who are nonverbal. Those who like to vocalize along will approximate the la-la sound. Those with communication devices can also sing the la-la response when it is recorded into their device. It's a wonderful way to include them in a group activity with other children. It can also be used to provide a strong motivator for those just learning to use their devices. To personalize the song, insert the child's name place of Sally.
Lyrics:
We're sitting in a circle, la-la-la-la
We're sitting in a circle, la-la-la-la
We're sitting in a circle, la-la-la-la
Now Sing, Sally Sing!
We're singing all together, la-la-la-la
We're singing all together, la-la-la-la
We're singing all together, la-la-la-la
Now Sing, Sally Sing!
That's a mighty fine song, la-la-la-la
That's a mighty fine song, la-la-la-la
That's a mighty fine song, la-la-la-la
Now Sing, Sally Sing!
We're singing all together, la-la-la-la
We're singing all together, la-la-la-la
We're singing all together, la-la-la-la
Now Sing, Sally Sing!
