White Lie

Here's a great little tune to help explain the concept of a white lie. Listen and sing with your child. Then discuss with your child the common practice of telling a minor or unimportant lie in the interest of tact of politeness. While it is socially useful to tell lies and researchers found that college students who exaggerated their GPA in interviews later showed improvement in their grades, the more you know someone is not telling the truth, the less trustworthy they are. According to one report, by the age of 3 most children know how to fib and by the age of 6 they may be telling a few lies each day. One study found that people tell two to three lies every 10 minutes. (US News and World Report, May 2009.)

My uncle tells a joke and I try to laugh
